Arkansas has received the commitment from Louisville transfer, El Ellis.

Ellis has been in the portal since late March after also declaring for the NBA Draft.

This was his statement after leaving Louisville:

“First I have to thank God for blessing me with the ability to play the game that I love. I wouldn’t be in the position I am today without Him.

Thank you to my family and friends for your love and unwavering support. You’re a big reason why I’m the player I am today.

To Coach K, the staff and also my teammates: Thank you for everything. This past year meant more to me than you could ever imagine.

Card Nation: Thank you for the support you all showed through a tough time. You truly made my time here special! Playing for Louisville these past two years meant more to me than people know. I played every minute of every game like it was my last.

know God has a plan for me. With that being said I will enter my name in the 2023 NBA Draft while retaining my eligibility.”

The All-ACC honorable mention guard had an exceptional season for a Louisville team that only won four games last season under first year coach Kenny Payne.

As a senior, Ellis averaged 17.7 points on 41% shooting while dishing out 4.4 assists per game. He was one of the best shooters in the ACC shooting 41-percent from the field, 32-percent from three and 81-percent from the free throw line.

Ellis was the most active guard shooting wise for Louisville last year taking over 30-percent of the shots for the team.

The addition of Ellis gives Arkansas their fifth transfer guard of the class that includes top high scoring guard Khalif Battle (Temple), Tramon Mark (Houston), Keyon Menifield (Washington) and Jeremiah Davenport (Cincinnati).
