Back-to-back night games for the Hogs? Count us in. On September 23, Arkansas (2-0) at LSU (1-1) will kickoff at 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN. Given how many great games are taking place on that particular Saturday, it is impressive that Arkansas at LSU is getting the primetime ESPN slot. All eyes will be on the Hogs.
This weekend, the Razorbacks will face BYU without Rocket Sanders. The LSU Tigers will travel to Starkville, MS to play Mississippi State, still trying to bounce back from the beating they took from Florida State in the opener.
The last time the Razorbacks played LSU at night in Death Valley (2021) they won 16-13 in overtime, led by the efforts of quarterback KJ Jefferson and kicker Cam Little. As two captains on the 2023 squad, these two players know exactly what it takes to go into Death Valley and come out on top. They’ll be looking to repeat their success.
After last season’s frigid, close loss to the Tigers, Arkansas will be looking to exact revenge on their border rival. The Battle for the Golden Boot continues, and the Hogs will have to be ready to face this strong LSU team.
The Arkansas at LSU game will mark the beginning of a difficult stretch for the Hogs. After that, they will face a barrage of talented SEC opponents in consecutive weeks. Coach Sam Pittman is hoping the team irons out offensive struggles and retains the play of Rocket Sanders by then.
