There are around seven months from the Razorbacks taking the floor in a meaning basketball games, but it’s never too early to look toward the future.

It’s always fun to skim the “way too early” rankings or championship favorites and see who the national media likes heading into a season.

Arkansas currently owns the No. 1 transfer class in the country according to 247Sports.com. That has the Hogs receiving a lot of love from personalities across college basketball. One such personality is ESPN’s resident Bracketologist, Joe Lunardi.

Lunardi is synonymous with ESPN’s coverage of the NCAA Tournament. He releases his prediction for the entire 68-team field numerous times throughout the season and leading up to Selection Sunday.

On Monday morning, Lunardi released his first set of bracket predictions for the 2024 season and is very high on the Hogs. Right now, he has Arkansas as the No. 2 seed in the East Region playing Radford in the first round. They would play the winner of No. 7 Wisconsin and No. 10 Oregon in the second round.

Arkansas fans would be excited if this sort of prediction were to pan out because the Razorbacks would be playing in Memphis. It’s a short drive for Arkansans, meaning Beale Street could become Dickson Street East.

It’s an exciting thought, sure, but it’s also important to not get ahead of yourself. As I mentioned in the beginning, we’re seven months from the start of the season.

Razorback fans should know from experience that a lot can happen between now and then. At the end of the day, this doesn’t really mean all that much. However, it is an early indication that people expect Musselman’s Hogs to be a force next season.
