Arkansas’ favorite son, Davonte Davis surprisingly called into Out Of Bounds on 103.7 The Buzz on Thursday. Everyone around the Natural State has been desperate for an update on his decision to return to Arkansas or pursue his professional goals.

This is what the senior-to-be had to say about his timeline:

“I’m training with Coach Antonio right now, one of my former AAU coaches. Right now just training and waiting for a little bit,” said Davis.

“Taking it day by day, really. I will for sure figure it out pretty soon. Just knowing that I have to prepare for whatever I’m going to do, so I want to make sure I’m able to prepare the right way. There’s not a timeline, but I’ll know in a few weeks exactly what I’m going to do.”

The Jacksonville, (Ark.) native had a very good junior season averaging a career high 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Davis also shot a higher volume than his previous two seasons but staying just as effective.

Most fans and media members tabbed Davis with the nickname “March Madness Devo” for his performances during the NCAA Tournament in his first three seasons. Whether it be the game-winning shot against against Oral Roberts to send Arkansas to their first Elite Eight since 1996 or his all-time great performance against Kansas to send Arkansas to their third straight Sweet Sixteen, Davis played his best when it mattered most.

Such a performance against the number number one seed brought tears to the team captain’s eyes following an up and down season.

Razorback fans will have to wait a little while longer for an official decision from Davis. But, he’s already etched his name in Arkansas Basketball lore forever.
