Arkansas loaded up with talent. However, they don’t have as many freshmen boasting tremendous upside. What they do have experienced upperclassmen with professional hopes and upside going for them.

The Razorbacks bring in six transfers, two true freshmen and five returning from last seasons Sweet Sixteen team. This roster doesn’t currently boast two lottery picks like last offseason. There’s hope that a few older guys will rise up and be drafted.

Here are five Hogs that could be selected during the 2024 NBA Draft.

Trevon Brazile

The former Missouri suffered a season-ending ACL injury nine games into last season. He was already trending up draft boards while putting up highlight dunks, being a dangerous stretch forward and ability to run in space.

Brazile is as versatile of a forward as they come and it is expected to go mid-first round. The 6’10 200 pound forward could make a push as a lottery lock with a strong season.

At the time of his injury, Brazile averaged 12 points, 6 rebounds while shooting 48-percent from the field, 38-percent from three and

Khalif Battle

Consistency of being a scoring threat is the key here for the Temple transfer. He was a former four-star player coming out of high school showing flashes of top level play but not enough.

Battle only started eight games a season ago but put up 18 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists a night.

Arkansas head coach, Eric Musselman, puts a premium on defense. Will be be able to develop into a quality two-way player?

Tramon Mark

The Houston transfer had a chance to likely go as a low second round pick in the year’s draft. However, he chose to remain in college at least one more season.

Mark is considered one of the best two-way players in the country after starting all 37 games last season. His offensive numbers are solid at 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists per game. The former Cougar had a fantastic second round game against Auburn in the NCAA Tournament in March. He scored 26 points, including 20 in the second half alone.

According to Sports Reference, Mark recorded a defensive rating of 91.3 which was third best by a Cougar last season. He can flash for steals (39 in 2022-23) and will impact shot making with 15 blocks.

His impact on the floor was exceptional among all AAC competition with a +5.3 +/- rating.

Davonte Davis

Before deciding to remain a Razorback and forgo the professional ranks Davis was thought to be pursuing his professional chances. According to a few sources, Davis’ camp was considering remaining in the draft and sign a two-way deal if he went undrafted.

The Jacksonville, (Ark.) native has improved offensively every season he has been in Fayetteville. The volume of shots taken this season nearly quadrupled and he remained as efficient in that department compared to seasons prior. Davis averaged 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 2022-23 including nine straight games where he scored 15 or more points.

The most memorable moment for fans was his performance against Kansas in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. No one could deny his desire to pull his team to a victory and a third straight trip to the second weekend of March Madness.

That night, Davis scored 25 points and 8 rebounds while shooting 9-15 from the field, 1-4 from three and 6-7 from the line before fouling out before the end of the game.

Having a fourth year player with such experience returns to the team is vital for the future success of the Razorbacks.

El Ellis

The Louisville transfer’s numbers are slightly skewed as he was the primary ball handler and offensive weapon a year ago. Teams would often use that against him, isolating him to double teams and such.

His 30% usage rate was one of the most in Power Five basketball a season ago and his stat line suffered due to that shooting 41-percent from the field and 31-percent from three.

Ellis can score at all three levels of the court making him one of the more versatile guards on the Arkansas roster. One of the qualities of his game that’s intriguing to Musselman and staff is Ellis’ ability to drive the lane and draw fouls, 4.9 fouls drawn per 40 minutes played, according to Sports Reference.

The Razorbacks are set this fall with more returnees and experienced upperclassmen. Will that equate to another Razorback being drafted for the sixth consecutive year?
