Arkansas Football: 2024 Defensive End Pushes Reset on Recruitment. Hogs An Option?

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — 2024 edge rusher Jayshawn Ross has announced he will reopen his recruitment.

The Arkansas target never announced a verbal committed to a program. However, he did state he was reopening his commitment.

“I would like to thank all the schools who have been recruiting me. I am both thankful and humbled by their recruitment. With that being said, my family and I would like to announce that I am re-opening my recruitment. I’m looking forward to finding the best place to continue my academic and athletic career.”

Ross was previously trending toward Oklahoma and Nebraska recently. He also received an offer from Florida State that’s also on the way back up as a college football power.

The Kansas City, (Mo.) product is ranked 377th overall in the 2024 class. He is the 28th ranked edge rusher and 9th overall player in the Show Me State.

According to Rivals futurecast system Arkansas, Penn State, Nebraska and Tennessee are the favorites to land the talented edge rusher.

As for the 2023 class, the defensive line is one of the best classes any coach has put together in recent memory. The Razorback sit 20th overall in the 247sports composite rankings with commitments from four-star Charlie Collins and four-star Kavion Henderson. Both are ranked as top 250 prospects.
