You don’t see many Bauxite Miners calling the Hogs over the past 20+ years. Today that changed as Marcus Wimberly announced he would commit to the Razorbacks.
The 6’1 180 pound safety chose Arkansas over Michigan and Memphis. The Natural State prospect has a reported 4.37 40-yard dash and will play safety in Fayetteville when he makes it to campus in 2025.
Wimberly is the second addition of the 2025 recruiting class for Arkansas. Quarterback Grayson Wilson committed to the Razorbacks earlier in the summer.
In His Own Words
First off, I want to thank God for this opportunity. This was a decision I delayed for a long time, because I needed God’s confirmation. This morning he provided me with that confirmation and I thank him for every blessing and for his grace and mercy. I would also like to thank my parents and my family as a whole.
They are great supporters and have my best interest at heart in everything I do. Last but not least, I want to thank all the coaches that have been there and helped develop me as a player and a young man along the way. With that being said, I am 1000% committed to The University of Arkansas!!
When he received his offer back in May, Wimberly was highly confident in the new defensive staff.
“Coach Woodson and Coach T-Will are not only great coaches but also great men doing whatever it takes to help develop great men and football players at the university!”
