Arkansas Football: NFL legacy to the Hogs?

Since Marcus Woodson took over as co-DC and assistant in the secondary, the recruiting has taken a huge step forward. With so many talented defensive backs already in the fold they could add even more talent with a prospect that has NFL and Crimson Tide genes.

Dre Kirkpatrick, Jr.‘s is considered a three-star prospect by 247sports. He is the 1235th rated prospect in the country, 116th cornerback and 45th best player in Alabama. The 6’0 192 pounder attends his father’s alma mater, Gadsden City High School in Gadsen, (Ala.).

Kirkpatrick received an offer from Alabama on July 26

His father played for Alabama from 2009-2011 before being drafted in the first round, 17th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals. The elder Kirkpatrick finished his NFL career with 365 tackles, 13 interception and 2 career touchdowns.

The Razorbacks hold commitments from several highly regarded prospects in the secondary. That includes top-50 DB Selman Bridges, Jaden Allen, Tevis Metcalf, Ahkhari Johnson and Jeremy Cook. Arkansas already has four Alabama prospects committed for the 2024 class so bringing in Kirkpatrick would be an impressive feat. If he goes anywhere but Tuscaloosa it would be a surprise.

He will choose between Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn and Missouri on August 18.
