Arkansas Football: Razorbacks land 15th transfer

The Razorbacks are still thin at tight end and Sherman is a good prospect to fill the void. A former walk-on, Sherman (6’3, 234 pounds) spent three seasons at Louisville recording 4 receptions for 32 yards and one touchdown.

Sherman joins Var’Keyes Gumms in the tight end room. Gumms re-committed to Arkansas on Sunday following a visit to California-Berkeley. Francis skill set is more of a blocking tight end. With the Hogs going more 12 and 13 personnel this season under new offensive coordinator, Dan Enos, an addition of Francis would be worth the commitment.

The Razorbacks now have 15 commitments out of the transfer portal. That’s the most transfers Pittman has brought in since becoming head coach prior to the 2020 season.

Due to a new NCAA rule over signing is no longer an issue. As long as a program has 85 players on scholarship they can sign as many freshmen or transfers as they’d like.

With Sherman and Gumms in for the tight end room is likely complete as far as depth goes. The Razorbacks have Luke Hasz and Shamar Easter who signed with the 2024 freshmen class and are expected to contribute immediately. Nathan Bax, a former walk-on rounds out the depth chart at the position.

Arkansas now sits ninth in the 247sports transfer rankings.
