Arkansas Football: RB Sanders one of “most hyped” players for 2023 season

The highly-anticipated 2023-2024 college football season is just under a month away from Week 1. The running back position is highly valued in the college game, unlike its role in the NFL, with some carrying much of the offense workload, proving their indispensable services. Which of the country’s collegiate RBs generated the most interest and has the most hype ahead of the upcoming season?

Why the hype?

BetArkansas.com utilized Google Trends to find the college football running backs with the most search interest for the 2023-2024 season. The results were taken from April 25 to July 25, while the Heisman odds were taken from BetMGM Sportsbook on July 25.

Sanders is one of the more versatile running backs in the country going into the season. His ability to catch the ball out of the backfield with ease gives new OC Dan Enos an extra option through the air.

Arkansas saw the Rockledge, (Fla.) native rush for 1443 yards, 271 yards receiving and 12 total touchdowns. The rising junior topped 100 yards rushing eight times in 2022 including two games over 200 yards.

The 6-foot-2 242 pound running back led the SEC in rushing for much of the season before being overtaken by Ole Miss’ Quinshon Judkins.

Sanders and his Razorback team will take the field against Western Carolina on September 2 beginning at 3 PM. The game will take place in Little Rock at the historic War Memorial Stadium instead of Fayetteville at Razorback Stadium.
