The Razorbacks have just landed a big time in-state defensive lineman. Four-star prospect Charleston Collins announced his commitment Friday on a live stream via On3’s YouTube channel. His commitment comes after an unofficial visit to Fayetteville to watch Arkansas’ spring game.

From Mills High School in Little Rock, Collins stands 6-4, 250 pounds and is ranked the No. 179 prospect in the country, the No. 22 DL recruit, and the second-highest ranked player in Arkansas according to 247 Sports. ON3.com ranks him even higher as the No. 124, No. 12, and No. 1 prospect, respectively.

As a junior, he was a force to be reckoned with on defense. Collins recorded 124 tackles, 12 sacks, forced one fumble, and recovered five. On offense, he played tight end catching 11 passes for 67 yards. His production helped lead the Comets to a 9-1 regular season before losing to Shiloh Christian in the second round of the playoffs

Travis Williams and Marcus Woodson have been an absolute game changer for the Razorbacks. Collins commitment marks the seventh commitment of the 2024 class for Arkansas. However, it’s also the sixth four-stars commit. For context, Arkansas only landed eight four-stars in last season’s class which ranked 25th nationally.

Collins committed to the Hogs over a bevy of SEC and Power Five schools. He had offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, and LSU among others. With the addition of Collins and Jaden Allen, who committed earlier in the day, Arkansas jumps over Clemson to move into the 18th spot in 247 national recruiting rankings.
