Arkansas reaches out to pair of guards in transfer portal

University Missouri-Kansas City transfer Rayquawndis Mitchell’s recruitment is open, according to The Portal Report.

The 6’5 graduate transfer guard has heard from a host of programs in division one. The list includes notable programs like Arkansas, Memphis, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, LSU, Oklahoma, Utah State, Charleston, Penn State and Texas Tech.

Mitchell started in all 32-games this season averaging 17.3 points, 3 rebounds and two assists. He shot 35-percent from the field, 30-percent from three and 84-percent from the charity stripe.

Another guard that the Razorbacks have interest in is Chadron State (D2) transfer Isaiah Wyatt, according to The Portal Report. He has heard from a good amount of schools including tournament teams like Arkansas and Charleston. Other teams showing Wyatt interest is UTSA, Cal State Northridge, Louisiana Tech, Indiana State, Bowling Green and Lipscomb.

The productive 6’6 guard averaged 18.7 points per game and shot over 50 percent from the floor with a three-point percentage near 45 percent. Wyatt can also stroke it from the line as an 80-percent shooter. He’s effective on the defensive end, too, averaging four rebounds and one steal a game.

It will be interesting to see if an offer results for Wyatt or Mitchell over the next few weeks. The Razorbacks already have commitments from five guards with the same build. Khalif Battle (Temple), Tramon Mark (Houston), Jeremiah Davenport (Cincinnati), Keyon Menifield (Washington) and El Ellis (Louisville) have all announced commitments to Arkansas.

Time will tell if the Razorbacks ultimately lose Davonte Davis and/or Jordan Walsh to the professional ranks. Neither were invited to the G-League combine this week nor do they rank in the top 60 prospects for the 2023 NBA Draft.

With the deadline to withdraw from the draft being May 31 we should know something definitive about their futures soon.
