Offensive lineman Bear McWhorter called the Hogs Sunday afternoon. His commitment comes just three days after fellow 2026 commit Tay Lockett made his intentions know.

The Cartersville, GA native is 6’4, 297 pounds as a high school sophomore. He chose Arkansas over offers from Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida State, Florida and many more.

McWhorter’s commitment is indeed early, but this isn’t the first time Hog fans have heard of him. In 2021—McWhorter’s eighth grade year—his family put up a billboard along I-49 in Fayetteville proclaiming his desire to be a Hog.

Neither Lockett nor McWhorter believe it’s too early to recruit, however. Both have been pushing other highly recruited players towards Arkansas, including one from the Natural State, himself.

Lockett retweeted McWhorter’s commitment tweet stating “And. Here. We. Go,” while including the Greenwood, AR standout Kane Archer. McWhorter then retweeted commenting, “Who’s next?”

The recruiting has been amazing since Sam Pittman hired his new staff. And they aren’t just excelling in one class at a time, they’re doing it in three. It could be a sign of great things to come for the Arkansas football program.
