Battle: “Musselman called within 20 seconds” of entering portal

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — It’s no surprise that Arkansas Basketball head coach Eric Musselman leans heavily on the transfer portal. Dating back to his days at Nevada, the former NBA and professional basketball coach knew how to build relationships with players for 1-2 year contracts.

Implementing that strategy into college basketball seemed quite odd. However, Musselman was developing something no one had seen before, treating transfers like NBA free agency. It’s certainly worked out for him.

This offseason, one of the best guards in the country at scoring the ball, Khalif Battle, hit the market and the Razorback coach was on him quickly. Within “20 seconds I might add.”
