Fayetteville, (Ark.)— Arkansas’ received a commit from 4-star Jalen Shelly. He makes his commitment just a few days after his official visit to Fayetteville.

Originally from Frisco, TX, the 6’8, 190 pounder now attends Link Academy in Branson, MO. He’s is a highly ranked according to 247Sports Composite. They rated Shelly at .98 and ranked him the No. 47 player in the country, No. 14 SF, and No. 3 Player in Missouri. Brandon Jenkins, recruiting analyst for 247Sports, says this about Shelly:

Shelley is a long and lean lefty forward that is very talented. He has a good feel for the game and shows the ability to make plays with the ball in his hands. His offense usually comes in transition where he flourishes and has the insticts to make the right play. The biggest knock on him is his motivation to play with a elite motor. Shelley has the upside to play the game of basketball on an elite level but needs to add more aggression to his play. Asserting himself and leading with his athleticism and feel to make the right decisions off a live dribble will determine his ultimate level.

The small forward chose Arkansas over a bevy of D1 offers. His offer list included Alabama, Creighton, Houston, LSU, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas, and many more. His commit is the first in the 2024 class.
