FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Will Stewart Mandel eat his words when it comes to Arkansas’ actual win-loss record for the 2023 season?

The Athletic national columnist shared his yearly SEC predictions piece today. It included Arkansas going 5-7 overall and 2-6 in SEC play.

Other interesting bits included Florida winning 3 games, their worst season since the 1970s. Missouri, Kentucky and South Carolina all winning 8 games.

As for the western division, Mandel picked Mississippi State at the bottom of the western division with a 5-7 (1-7) overall record. He chose LSU to win the conference with all other Western divisions team with at least three losses.

Arkansas returns a star studded backfield but relative unknowns everywhere else on the roster, especially in the secondary. Most of those will be answered on the first three weeks of the season before the Hogs travel to LSU to open SEC play on September 23.
