Eric Musselman’s roster for next season is officially complete after officially adding transfer Denijay Harris.

The former Southern Miss forward had originally committed to New Mexico State but reopened his recruitment in June. Following news of Keyon Menifield redshirting for the 2023-24 season, sources close to the program told Hawg Country that Harris would be using that open scholarship spot. Harris has been on campus for some time now, participating in summer workouts with the team.

The 6-7, 196-pound forward appeared in 28 games for the Golden Eagles last season, averaging 8.9 points and 5.6 rebounds. He reached double figures in scoring on 14 separate occasions and recorded three double-doubles. He played a big part in helping Southern Miss to an NIT appearance last year.

Harris is a slashing forward who brings a lot of versatility to the roster. He’s long and athletic, meaning he’s very switchable on the defensive end. He’s also a tenacious rebounder who has pretty good touch around the rim – he finished 56.5% of his field goal attempts last season.

Overall, Harris is another solid addition that provides depth and versatility, which is something Musselman values highly. He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
