After originally announcing his intentions to stay with the Razorbacks, Derrian Ford has entered the transfer portal. He announced his departure via his personal Twitter account.

Ford recorded minutes in 21 games, averaging 3.8 minutes a game. He finished the shooting 40% from the field and averaged 0.7 points, 0.5 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game. With the Razorbacks he recorded 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.

The Magnolia native was a two-time 4A Arkansas Player of the Year in high school and was apart of Arkansas’s No. 2 ranked 2022 signing class as a top 100 recruit according to 247 Sprorts. He led Magnolia High School to three 4A state titles and averaged 23.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3 assists as a junior.

With Ford’s departure, only Joseph Pinion is the only player from last year’s recruiting class projected to return next year. However, Jordan Walsh can still return to school after entering the 2023 NBA draft. Arkansas has 11 scholarships spots filled assuming Devo Davis and Walsh stay in the draft process.
