Arkansas baseball’s season is officially over following a 7-4 loss to TCU. The Diamond Hogs had their backs against the wall with the season on the line and couldn’t keep up with TCU’s high-powered offense.
The Hogs struck first in the top of the 1st inning, getting the bases loaded. However, they wouldn’t be able to take full advantage of the situation. They would only score one run and strand two runners.
TCU was able to score two runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning to take back the lead and hold it until the top of the 5th inning. Arkansas’ bats would come alive in the 5th inning when Jace Bohrofen hit a two-run homer into center. Then, Jared Wegner sent a solo homer into right to give the Hogs a 4-2 lead.
However, it would be short-lived as TCU’s high-powered offense got going once again. After scoring one run in the 5th inning, they would get a two-run homer from Austin Davis to take a 5-4 lead. The Frogs would score another run in the 6th inning and never look back, cruising to a 12-4 win.
TCU advances to the Super Regionals, while Arkansas’ season officially comes to an end.
