Creighton Men’s Basketball

The Razorback Basketball program lost a key piece to their lineup last night as Jordan Walsh announced he would stay in the NBA Draft.

What this does is open up one final spot on the roster for a probable transfer. After missing out on Duncanville, Texas standout, Ron Holland, Arkansas is still on the lookout for a versatile forward capable of guarding any position 1-4.

There’s certainly still quite a few players with tremendous value. And our own, Connor Goodson tweeted a list of five players who Arkansas could contact that currently reside in the transfer portal:

Arthur Kaluma (Creighton)

The highly sought after forward improved his numbers in all facets of the game this past season for the Blue Jays.

Kaluma averaged 11.8 points and 6.0 rebounds including a solid 31.1-percent beyond the arc.

This followed a freshman season that saw him put up 10.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He was certainly a factor during the postseason this year scoring in double figures in each of the Bluejays’ NCAA tournament games.

Similar to the returning Davonte Davis, Kaluma performs very well during the postseason. The former Blue Jay scored 24 points and 12 rebounds vs. Kansas in the second round of the 2022 NCAA tournament.

Olivier Nkamhoua (Tennessee)

Nkamhoua averaged 10.8 points and 5.0 rebounds as a senior.

The former Tennessee Volunteer had a pair of huge games in the NCAA Tournament. He had 27 points and five rebounds in Tennessee’s 65-52 win against Duke in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. He scored 23 second-half points, powering UT to its first Sweet 16 since 2019 with a torrid scoring stretch.

Robert Carpenter (Kent St.)

The former Golden Flame had a fantastic junior season at Mississippi Valley State. He averaged 17.8 points and 5 rebounds during the 2021-22 season.

David Jones (St. John’s)

Jones played under a familiar name last season, former Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson. This will be Jones second third program during his career. He underwhelmed a tad under Anderson’s tutelage. Jones was one of the best transfers on the market last offseason before committing to the Red Storm.

He still had a solid season averaging 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists per game.

Jaiden Delaire (San Diego)

Recognize the school name?

Yeah? That’s Eric Musselman’s alma mater. Delaire transferred in last season after spending four seasons with Stanford in the PAC 12.

The 6’9 forward’s production was down a tad last season only playing in 12 games, starting 10 of those. He averaged 9 points and 5 rebounds on 45-percent from the field. Delaire had a pretty good shot from three last season at 47-percent.

His best season at Stanford was the junior campaign  averaging 12.5 points and 4 rebounds.
