Razorback basketball is set to start in a little over a month, but fans are already scouring ticket websites trying to find seats. Fortunately, many sites still have ample supply for most games this season. Unfortunately, some of those games might come at a steep price.

Namely, an early season matchup against the Duke Blue Devils will scrape the bottoms of fans’ wallets, with the cheapest ticket option on most sites sitting at over $500. Sites like StubHub and Seat Geek start their prices at $527 and $517, respectively. Compared to the rest of their schedule, this dwarfs the next most-expensive game on their schedule by over $260, when the Hogs will take on the Kentucky Wildcats.

For fans looking to sit closer down to the court, tickets soar up to around $950-$1,150. Anybody seeking a bit more luxury in one of the suites can expect to pay nearly $1,182. Despite their hefty price tag, seats for the game have been selling rapidly, and most expect Bud Walton not to have an empty seat come tip-off.

A little history

This matchup will be the 5th time the two teams have ever met on the hardwood, and nearly each game has had serious implications. The teams have split their all time series 2-2, with the Blue Devils beating the Hogs in the postseason twice. The first of their wins was a 4 point win to push them past the Razorbacks to the 1990 National Championship game, and the second was a 78-69 victory that would send them to the 2022 Final Four.

The most notable of their meetings was in the 1994 National Championship game, when Head Coach Nolan Richardson led the Hogs to a 76-72 win. Their other win came in the 1990 preseason NIT, with Arkansas winning 98-88.

In a historic series, it’s easy to see why fans will be anxious to see these two teams play in the ACC/SEC challenge in November. This will be the first time the two teams have ever played at a non-neutral site, and some think it could even be the “biggest game Bud Walton has ever seen”.
