Pro Hawg: Former Razorback Basketball great disrespected by ESPN reporter

Former Razorback great, Jaylin Williams, was victim to a level of disrespect by ESPN sidelines reporter Holly Rowe on Tuesday, July 4.

It’s obvious by watching the video that Jaylin tried letting it roll with a smile to teammate Chet Holmgren.

Fellow teammate Jalen Williams played his college ball at Santa Clara. He was drafted in the first round by Oklahoma City during the 2022 NBA Draft. A few picks into the second round and Arkansas’ Williams was selected by the Thunder.

It’s not the fact that Jalen didn’t deserve the praise after scoring 21 points it’s the way she introduced him in the postgame segment.

“We dubbed you THE Jalen Williams tonight,” before turning to Jaylin and saying “No offense, young man.”

During the awkward moment, Williams looked at teammate Tre Mann who mouthed the phrase, “you ok with that?”

Jaylin had a solid night himself scoring 8 points and pulling in 13 rebounds in 29 minutes played for the Thunder.

Even if the snide remark wasn’t intentional it was cringeworthy and a weird live television moment.

The former Arkansas forward’s draft stock skyrocketed during his sophomore year. He was nowhere near the NBA radar until SEC play started in 2022. Williams recorded 16 double-doubles in his final 23 collegiate appearances.
