With one scholarship spot remaining for the 2023 roster the Razorbacks add Clayton, (N.C.) native, Dazmin Jones.

The 6’1 180 pound athlete received an offer from Arkansas on Friday, June 2.

As a high school track star, Janes ran a 10.46 verified 100-meter dash and a 21.06 in the 200-meter. Both of those times won him the North Carolina state championship this spring.

He competed as an athlete during high school but is classified a wide receiver in the 2023 class. Being frond late in the process, James’ first offer came from North Carolina State on June 1.

James finished the 2022 season with 43 receptions for 601 yards and 5 TDs in 11 games. He also added 27 carries for 321 yards and 4 TDs on 11.9 yards per carry. The speedster helped Clayton High School to a 6-5 record and a North Carolina 4A first-round playoff appearance.

With the addition of James, Arkansas finishes the 2023 class with 22 additions. Which is good enough for 22nd in the rankings. The Razorbacks have also added 18 transfers to meet the maximum number of scholarship roster spots of 85.

James chose Arkansas over NC State and Liberty.
