The class of 2025 in the state of Arkansas is shaping up to be rich in talent. The Razorbacks have already sent out six scholarship offers in next season’s cycle and likely won’t slow down.
The sixth instate prospect to receive and offer is Bauxite, (Ark.) HS safety, Marcus Wimberly. He’s grown up a Razorback fan and when he attended the latest came at the University of Arkansas, Wimberly came away with something many Arkansas kids dream of, an offer from the states flagship program.
DREAM COME TRUE
“It seriously is a dream come true! It’s been a dream of mine since I was a little kid growing up watching the Hogs play with my family every Saturday! It really shows how great God is. Without my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, none of this would’ve ever happened!”
The Miners’ star safety has the utmost confidence in head coach Sam Pittman as he continues to rebuild the football program.
“I think coach Pittman does a wonderful job with the team and the guys! The state has had his back since he came in and he’s gonna continue to do a great job!”
There’s certainly a difference in recruiting the instate talent due to Arkansas being on the rise in the SEC. As the conference continues to move forward into expansion there needs to be a continued emphasis on the best instate prospects landing at Arkansas. It seems like Arkansas understands that when finding Wimberly, a very talented safety.
One of the key reasons for optimism for the future of Razorback Football is the new defensive coaches in Travis Williams and Marcus Woodson. Wimberly is very high on the new staff additions.
“Coach Woodson and Coach T-Will are not only great coaches but also great men doing whatever it takes to help develop great men and football players at the university!”
OFFERS AND NEED TO KNOW
Wimberly currently holds offers from UAPB, Sam Houston State, UT Martin, and now Arkansas. He’s recently had contact from Oklahoma State and Mississippi State for camp invites.
According to the Bauxite product, he runs a 4.37 40-yard dash at 6’1 183 pounds.
Arkansas is already busy recruiting the 2025 class having received a commitment earlier in the offseason when Dan Enos became the offensive coordinator. CAC (Little Rock, Ar.) QB Grayson Wilson committed to the Hogs in April. He is currently rated as the 29th best quarterback in the class and third best player in the state.
Other 2025 prospects from Arkansas are 4-star safety Omarion Robinson, 3-star OT Carius Curne and 3-star ATH Quentin Murphy.
