Razorback Football: Hogs gain 16th transfer commitment

With depth at defensive tackle being an issue this spring, Arkansas brings in Keivie Rose from the transfer portal. The former Louisiana Tech star spent the past four seasons with the Bulldogs.

The 6’4 303 pound defensive tackle starred in Conference USA last season with a first team all-conference performance. He finished with 24 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 2 sacks.

For his career, Rose recorded tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks. He reported several Power Five conference offers but chose Arkansas over Missouri, Virginia Tech, TCU, Ole Miss, Miami and Colorado.

The addition of Rose gives Arkansas plenty of bodies to rotate along the interior defensive line. Maryland transfer, Anthony Booker, joins the line at 6’4 325 pounds.

The Razorbacks will return Eric Gregory as well. He’s been a very active piece rotating at both DL positions. Taurean Carter returns from a knee injury that kept him out for the entirety of the 2022 season.

Defensive line coach, Deke Adams has put in plenty of work proving himself to not only have success on the field but in recruiting. That of which is something that head coach Sam Pittman puts a premium on if you’re hoping to be retained.

Marcus Miller will return for his senior year while Cam Ball is back for his redshirt sophomore season. Ball entered the rotation last season and became a big factor for the future of the Razorback line.

Freshman Ian Geffrard and redshirt freshman JJ Hollingsworth round out the depth chart at the position.
