Arkansas has landed another highly-touted recruit in Ahkhari Johnson. His commitment comes just five days after taking his official visit to Fayetteville.

The Texarkana native is an 86 rated three-star according to 247Sports. He ranks 743rd nationally, 120th in the state of Texas, and 77th athlete. On3 Sport rates Johnson even high at 88 and ranks him 683rd, 120th, and 34th, respectively.

In high school, Johnson played substantial snaps on both sides of the ball. 247Sports listed him as wide receiver although he played mainly quarter back on offense. However, most programs, including Arkansas, recruited him to play defensive back. He helped lead Pleasant Grove to the fourth round of the 4A Texas playoffs and an 11-3 season.

The 5’11, 175 pounder also ran track. Johnson has blazing speed. As a sophomore he ran a 11.23 in the 100 meter dash. One year late he shaved nearly two tenths of a second off recording a 11.06 time.

Johnson had a few other power-5 offers including Oklahoma State, TCU and Arizona State. With his commitment, Arkansas continues to be ranked in the top 20 in recruiting. At 18th, the razorbacks are sandwiched between Alabama and South Carolina
