Arkansas received more excellent news on Friday when four-star wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield announced his commitment to the Razorbacks.

The Pine Bluff, (Ark.) native stands at 6’2, 175 pounds ranks as the 384th overall player in the country for the 2024 class, according to 247sports. He is the 55th ranked wide receiver and fifth best prospect in the state of Arkansas.

Recently, we were able to catch up with Crutchfield about his commitment to Arkansas and what made him choose the Razorbacks.

“The bonding that I have with the coaches are just wonderful,” said Crutchfield. “They make me feel like that’s the place that I want to be.”

Instilling a culture of accountability and family has helped Arkansas recover from nearly a decade of futility in the football program. Top prep athletes from the state were beginning to go elsewhere as the Razorbacks meddled in mediocrity. Now, Pittman has helped rebound a program that is again on pace to sign the best recruiting class in program history.

Crutchfield chose the Razorbacks over Auburn, Iowa State, LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M and more. Wide receiver coach, Kenny Guiton, was the lead recruiter for the highly regarded receiver.

The two-way athlete recorded 17 receptions for 517 yards and nine touchdowns last season with the Zebras. Defensively, Crutchfield is as good as they come recording 30 tackles, three tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and an interception.

Being a multi-sport athlete, Crutchfield says it gives him an advantage to possibly see playing time at multiple receiver positions. Playing football, basketball, baseball and track helps him gain speed and improve his vertical.

With the addition, Arkansas now moves up one spot in the 247sports team rankings. The Razorbacks surpass Auburn and move to 21st overall and two points behind Clemson.

The Razorbacks best finish in the recruiting rankings era was 2011 when they signed the 20th overall class.
