The moment everyone in the SEC has been waiting for has finally arrived. The SEC media poll has been released, showing what teams they think are contenders for the SEC Crown, what teams are pretenders, and they’re preseason All-SEC selections.

To no one’s surprise, Georgia was picked to win the SEC with a total of 181 votes. The next closest was Alabama with 62. Arkansas, however, received two votes of their own and another to win the SEC west. The only schools to not receive a vote to win the SEC Championship were Ole Miss, Kentucky, Florida, and Mizzou.

As far as divisional rankings go, the media picked Arkansas to finish fifth in the west behind LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss. The only teams picked behind the Hogs were the two programs in the division rebuilding with new head coaches.

In the Eastern division, Georgia obviously takes the top spot followed by Tennessee, South Carolina, Kentucky, Florida, Missouri, and Vanderbilt.

Arkansas fans might be disappointed where their team ended up in the poll, but when the preseason All-SEC selections came out, it probably brightened up their day. The Razorbacks had four players selected by the media. Raheim “Rocket” Sanders was the lone Hog named first-team All-SEC, sharing the title with Ole Miss’ Quinshon Judkins. KJ Jefferson, Dwight McGlothern, and Brady Latham were named to the second-team.

Now that SEC Media Days are wrapping up, the real fun begins. Fall camps will start in early August. There, each team will set the foundation for their respective seasons, and either prove the media right or prove them wrong.

As for the Hogs, they’ll look to prove the latter.
