Staff Predictions: LSU

Published

on

After a self inflicted loss to BYU, Arkansas will make the trip down to Baton Rouge to play the No. 12 LSU Tigers.

It’ll be hard fought game—as it always is when they Battle for the Golden Boot—but will the Hogs come out with the win?

Here are the Hawg Country staff predictions:

Jordan Vallas

Arkansas’ offensive line is going to struggle a bit against the LSU front seven. That being said, the Arkansas defense should keep the Hogs in the game. It’s going to come down to 4th quarter momentum and situational coaching.

I expect Chris Paul Jr. to have a great game at linebacker. The defense is going to have to get pressure early and often to keep Jayden Daniels in check. If the offensive woes the Razorbacks have been facing somehow dissipate, it could make for a surprising outcome. Unfortunately, I don’t think that offensive resurgence happens for the Hogs just yet.

Final Score: LSU 27, Arkansas 16

Connor Goodson

Under Sam Pittman, Arkansas has traditionally played really well the week after a loss. I think the Hogs will play pretty well in this one, but the offensive line will struggle once again. The Razorback defense will probably continue their stellar play, but it’s just not enough to stop Jayden Daniels and this high-powered LSU offensive attack.

Final score: LSU 38, Arkansas 21

Arkansas’ secondary has seen a resurgence now that Travis Williams has taken over the defense. They rank No. 55 nationally in pass defense through three games. However, LSU has one of the best passing offenses in the country with weapons like Malik Nabers. I don’t think that, in its infancy, that will be able to handle it. With the Arkansas’ offensive struggles as of late, I believed Arkansas loses a tough one in Death Valley.

Final Score: LSU 31, Arkansas 17
