Dominant. That’s the most appropriate word to describe Texas A&M’s 34-22 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks (2-3, 0-2 SEC) on Saturday.

The Aggies looked like the better team, played like the better team and won as a result. The Razorbacks continued to struggle in nearly every aspect of the game.

Arkansas’ offense looked pretty good to start the game as two of their first drives ended up in the redzone. Unfortunately, the same issues that plagued them last week against LSU, came up again against Texas A&M. They had to settle for field goals instead of scoring touchdowns.

The Aggies had no problems scoring in the first half despite only having four possessions. The Hogs only kept Texas A&M from scoring once, on a missed field goal from Randy Bond. The Aggies took a 17-6 lead and all of the momentum into halftime.

Things looked to change on the first play, as Lorando Johnson picked off Max Johnson’s pass. He took it in untouched for a touchdown to cut the lead to four. But that would be the closest Arkansas would get the rest of the way.

KJ Jefferson nearly went the entire second half without completing a pass for positive yardage. With less than five minutes to go, he found Andrew Armstrong for a 48-yard touchdown to make it 34-22, Texas A&M. The 2-point conversion was no good and the ensuing onside kick was recovered by the Aggies. They would run out the clock to win for the second-straight year.

Jefferson finished 9-17 for 132 yards with a touchdown and interception. Armstrong led the Hogs in receiving with three catches for 78 yards and a touchdown. Rocket Sanders had just 11 carries for 37 yards in his return.

Arkansas travels to Oxford to take on Ole Miss next weekend.
