Former assistant NOT happy with Sam Pittman’s comments

After significant staff turnover, Sam Pittman has done a wonderful job filling the holes. He expressed his satisfaction in the new staff during the April 11th Spring press conference. “I’ve really been pleased with my new coaches. I think, to a man we’ve really gotten better,” Pittman Continued, “I’ve liked our new schematics that we’ve done offensively, defensively. I think our new guys coming in, the player have accepted them well.”

Michael Bratton of  “That SEC Podcast” tweeted a clip of Pittman’s comment. He added, “Sam Pittman provides an encouraging update leading up to Saturday’s Red-White Spring Game.” One previous assistant coach did not agree.

Bratton posted a short on his YouTube channel showing a now-deleted tweet from former LBs coach, Michael Scherer. Scherer quote tweeted the post above stating, “You help people out and respect people and they turn around and show you the real them. #family”.

What else is Pittman supposed to say? Is he supposed to say that he hates his new staff? Or that they’re just as good as the previous one? Scherer obviously realized he mistook Pittman’s statement and deleted the post, but it could be evidence that last year’s culture problem was broader than anyone thought.
