Transfer Receivers Living Up To The Hype

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The two Division II transfers have been as good as advertised since arriving in Fayetteville. It’s one thing to make incredible receptions during practice it’s another to be a highlight reel during games.

Isaac TeSlaa has been Mr. Dependable through the first two weeks and shows no signs of slowing down as the schedule increases in toughness. Anything that touches his hands will be caught like he has gorilla glue gloves. Not only does he catch everything but will lay out for passes as well. The diving 36-yard grab on third down by the Hillsdale College transfer led the Hogs to their first offensive touchdown. The other exceptional catch was also on third and six with a defender draped all over TeSlaa.

That play set the Hogs up to score their second touchdown of the day on a one-yard run by Rashod Dubinion.

Despite the offensive struggles, Pittman believes the hype of TeSlaa. He leads the team in receiving yards through two weeks with 6 receptions for 117 yards, 1 TD and averages 19.5 yards per catch.

“[TeSlaa] can catch and we didn’t particularly throw it well today,” said Pittman. He made some TeSlaa catches. Armstrong had a nice catch too.”

Speaking of Armstrong, the Texas A&M-Commerce transfer has a knack for finding the endzone with two receiving touchdowns. He led the team in receptions with 4 for 21 yards.

According to Jefferson, Armstrong is emerging as his go-to receiver in the redzone.

“It’s been good, just having a guy like Andrew who’s quarterback-friendly,” said Jefferson. “He’s always trying to mirror me and always be in my line of sight.”

So far, Armstrong leads the team in receptions with 9 for 99 yards and 3 touchdowns.
