USC QB commit makes Arkansas more appealing for another target

Arkansas is sitting pretty with so much talent in the state for the upcoming recruiting cycles.

There is one quarterback in the football factory town of Greenwood, (Ark.) that is wanted by every FBS, FCS, NJCAA, NAIA and other colleges around the country. But, when you have a player of this elite status only few have a chance to pull in his services.

According to Will Whitson, the USC Trojans were high favorites for 2026 QB Kane Archer from the Natural State. The Trojans picked up another commitment from the class of 2026, Julian Lewis.

“2026 Greenwood, AR QB Kane Archer had a high interest in USC, but with the commitment of Lewis in his same class, I don’t expect Archer to have USC in his top schools,” said Whitson.

A tweet from Hayes Fawcett of On3 broke the news of Lewis committing to USC.

“Elite 2026 QB Julian Lewis tells me he has Committed to USC! The 6’1 185 QB from Carrollton, GA chose the Trojans over Alabama, Georgia, & others. Lewis is ranked as the No. 1 Recruit in the ‘26 Class (No. 1 QB).

Archer is considered one of the top quarterbacks in his class. He holds offers from the Hogs, Michigan, USC, Florida State, Missouri, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

The talented QB threw for 800 yards, 9 TD and 3 INT in limited duty as a freshman last season.
