USF Transfer LB Expected to Debut for Hogs Saturday

Published

Arkansas Head Coach Sam Pittman said in his press conference on Wednesday that he expects USF transfer linebacker Antonio Grier to play this Saturday.

Pittman said the same thing about Grier last week, but the Senior linebacker was held out of the game due to soreness.

The addition of Grier in an already loaded linebacker room could be crucial for the Hogs throughout the season, and quite possibly may be a boost on Saturday against Kent State. With Chris “Pooh” Paul ineligible for the first half of Saturday’s game due to targeting, Grier could be in line to start in his Razorback debut.

Grier finished last season with 21 tackles before suffering a season ending hand injury, and was voted First-Team All-AAC by multiple media outlets. He eventually red-shirted, thus granting him his final year at Arkansas.

It will be an interesting watch to see if Grier does indeed play, but as of right now, it seems as if he’s on track.
