WATCH: Hog QB commit KJ Jackson talks Arkansas, Pittman’s culture and Enos’ impact

Arkansas fans got to hear from a future field general in dual threat quarterback commitment KJ Jackson.

On3’s Chad Simmons was able to snag an interview with the four-star QB and he was very complimentary of his future team.

Recruiting

“I feel great…we’re building a great class,” said Jackson.

That’s not far from the truth as the Razorbacks hold commitments from four 247sports top 100 players. Which is something that Arkansas has never done before. Going back to at least 2010 when recruiting rankings and coverage took over at the site, Arkansas has never signed more than one in a class.

It is truly historic for the Razorback Football program as they currently have nine 4-star’s committed.

Enos Impact

“I can’t wait to get there and learn from Coach [Dan] Enos,” said Jackson. “We’re doing great things and think we’ll be on top of the SEC soon”

The Razorbacks will need to capitalize on their current streak in recruiting since falling back to a 7-6 season in 2022. Arkansas will break in a newer offense with Enos coming from Maryland. It’s been stated that there will be similar concepts from previous seasons but expect more of a pro-style approach in 2023.

Culture

One of the main reasons high schoolers and transfers are flocking to Arkansas is the culture head coach Sam Pittman has set in place. There have been a few hiccups over the past three seasons. However, Pittman continues to adapt and make changes when necessary.

”He keeps things in a family culture…you can tell he cares about you when he’s talking with you,” Jackson said. “[Pittman] hears everything you say… at the end of the day it’s family. He made my family feel included at Arkansas.”

When it comes to putting in an offense and feeling competitive, Jackson believes Enos can help Arkansas have an easier transition to success.

”Everyone in that building wants to win,” said Jackson. “KJ Jefferson …really truly thinks Coach Enos was the best person that could come in the building at help them win.”

The Razorbacks take the field on September 2 hosting Western Carolina in Little Rock at War Memorial Stadium beginning at 3PM.
